Tegan Orpet grew up on a farm in Adams County Illinois. She graduated from Camp Point Central High School and attended Lincoln College for two years, then transferred to Western Illinois University where she earned a bachelor's degree in broadcasting with a minor in communications.
Tegan's worked at KHQA since January 2003 and is the morning Weather Anchor on KHQA This Morning. Tegan and her husband Ryan live in rural Adams County with their daughter Kaylyn and son Keeden.
Being part of the community and volunteering is very important to Tegan and her family.
She serves on the Salvation Army Christmas Campaign board, The Quincy Arts Center Beau Arts Ball Committee, Celebrity painter for Big Brothers Big Sister Looks Who's Painting Fundraiser, Dancing with the Local Stars for 2 season, Certificated Miss America Judge, Emcee for various fundraisers and pageants in Illinois, Missouri and Iowa, room mother, taxi service for her kids and completely sleep deprived.
In her free time she spends it with her family, baking treats with her kids, golfing, crafting, photography and sometimes just doing nothing!
