Coroner releases identity of man found dead after Moberly fire

The Randolph County Coroner has released the identity of the man who died in a fire on Saturday.

Coroner Charlie Peel said the man who died was Jeffrey Benton, 54, of Moberly.

Peel said that Benton died of injuries sustained in the fire.

He also said they are waiting on the results of more toxicology texts.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal was still investigating the cause of the fire.
