New Animate production plant in Quincy

New Animate production plant in Quincy

A new manufacturing plant to help meet growing demand in the U.S. and international dairy markets is now located in Quincy.

It's call the Phibro Animal Health Corporation, and its purpose is to expand the capacity for Animate.

This is a nutritional supplement to help support health and production for transition dairy cows.

The new plant is roughly 63,000 square feet.

It provides production, packaging, warehousing and space for a product development laboratory and pilot plant.

It's the second new plant that Phibro has built for Animate production in the last three years.

Animate is recommended to be fed to pre-partum dairy cows a minimum of 21 days before calving to help maintain normal serum calcium status during the critical days before, during and after calving which may help reduce the risk of clinical and subclinical hypocalcemia, conditions which can result in significant health issues and reduced milk production.

Because of its high palatability, concentrated source of anions and complete formulation, Animate can be fed as part of a fully-acidified negative DCAD (dietary cation anion difference) diet without reducing dry matter intake, leading to increased milk yield.

Phibro Animal Health Corporation is a diversified global developer, manufacturer and marketer of a broad range of animal health and mineral nutrition products for use in the production of dairy, beef cattle, poultry, swine and aquaculture.
