Illinois Senate passes Tobacco 21 bill, heads to Governor's desk

    The Illinois Senate debated the Tobacco 21 bill on Thursday.

    The bill would raise the age to buy tobacco to 21 in Illinois.

    The bill has already been passed by the House.

    Shortly after 1 p.m., our sister station WICS reported that the Illinois Senate passed the bill with a 39-16 vote.

    The bill now heads to Governor Pritzker's desk for his approval.
