A woman crashed her car Sunday morning after troopers say she fell asleep at the wheel.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Kayla McQueen, 29, of Paris, Missouri, was driving on Highway 24 four miles east of Moberly when she crashed her vehicle after dozing off while driving.

Investigators said McQueen was traveling eastbound on Highway 24 at 8:20 a.m. Sunday when her car ran off the left side of the roadway.

McQueen’s car struck a fence, and it received moderate damage.

The highway patrol said McQueen was not wearing her seatbelt and was under the influence of drugs.

McQueen was arrested for suspicion of DWI and was held at the Randolph County Jail.
