The 17th annual Western Illinois University Big Pink Volleyball Tournament is a philanthropic event co-sponsored by Campus Recreation and Thompson Hall held at the Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center.

This year proceeds will benefit the Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center (DKSWC) at McDonough District Hospital.

Titled Big Pink in reference to the four-foot wide pink volleyball used during games, the tournament raised a total of $1,888.94 through team fees and individual donations.

The DKSWC broke ground this past June and is estimated to be complete by January 2020.

The center will strengthen comprehensive women’s health services in the region with renovation and enhancements to cancer screening and early diagnostic services at MDH. To learn more about the DKSWC project or to get involved, contact the MDH Foundation Office at (309) 836-1757.
