Tour the Hoffman Mansion in Hamilton, IL
You now have the opportunity to step inside the famous Hoffman Mansion in Hamilton, Illinois.
The mansion will be opening its door to the public for six days in December for Candlelight Holiday Tours.
Along with the beautiful artwork, the inside will be lined with candles and Christmas decorations.
"We receive a lot of questions in regards to what is inside the home, what we have to offer, and (these tours) will feed the curiosity of the community as well as benefiting a good cause," said Shelby Homan, who helped plan the candlelight tours.
All proceeds from these tours will go towards opening the Keokuk-Hamilton Dam Museum.
"We see the dam and the power plant every day and it's amazing how it happened, how it was constructed, and many of the local people are not aware of that so we are going to be able to show them in the museum so they can appreciate what we have," said Kathy Asbury, with the Keokuk-Hamilton Dam Museum.
This is the second time that the mansion has ever been open to the public.
The tours will be held on December 9th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 19th, and 20th.
There are two tours you can take:
- Standard Tours, which run about 50 minutes and cost $20.
- VIP Tours, which last about two hours and cost $35.
