Iowa Democratic Senate Primary Winner, Theresa Greenfield, held a Zoom meeting Wednesday morning following her victory.
The election on Tuesday solidified Greenfield's match up against Republican Senator Joni Ernst.
Greenfield said Tuesday's Democratic turnout was record breaking.
"Democrats have now overtaken both republican and no party voters in terms of voter registration," said Greenfield. "It just suggests that there's a lot of momentum here; they're ready for change, they're ready for new leadership, I am proud to have earned their vote last night and to be the nominee for United States Senate."
She criticized Senator Ernst's votes against the Affordable Care Act.
Greenfield fears this would close many of Iowa's rural hospitals.
Greenfield will take on Republican Senator Joni Ernst in the fall.
