Storm damages MoDOT facility, flips truck

A garage door was blown inward by the wind onto a MoDOT truck.

Severe thunderstorms hit the Tri-States Monday evening. The strongest storm hit Clark County, Missouri just south of Wayland.

Damaging winds impacted the Missouri Department of Transportation facility. Six large garage doors were blown out of the facility. The structure of a car wash was also damaged, with the frame taking damage.

The salt dome was completely toppled.

Signs were thrown onto Highway 27 which is next to the facility. Those signs were removed by Missouri Highway Patrol.

There were no reported injuries at the MoDOT facility.

Utility companies were also repairing two power poles knocked down by the strong wind. Multiple residences were still without power in the Wayland area as of 9 p.m.

Meanwhile on Highway 27, a passing semi was blown over by the wind gusts. The driver was transported to Keoluk's Unitypoint Hospital with minor injuries.
