Stolen vehicle suspects arrested in Hannibal

Young and Utterback are under 24-hour holds at the Marion County Jail.

On Wednesday morning, an off-duty Hannibal Police Department officer observed a vehicle that had previously been reported as stolen earlier in the week by a victim of house burglary. The officer followed the vehicle until on-duty officers arrived on scene and attempted stop it.

The suspected vehicle left the area with Hannibal officers in pursuit, and Marion County Sheriff's deputies continued the pursuit. They deployed stop sticks, causing the vehicle to stop at US 36 and Veterans Road. The driver and passenger ran from the vehicle into a wooded area, but were found after a short search by Hannibal Officers.

The driver, Joshua Young, 17, from Hannibal and Kaitlyn Utterback, 20, from Hannibal were placed under arrest without incident. Both are placed on 24-hour holds for receiving stolen property at the Marion County Jail. Their involvement from the house burglary back on Sunday is still being investigated.
