St. Louis-area crash claims life of Quincy woman

A Quincy, Illinois woman died Saturday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in St. Charles, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Phyliss Heindselman, 82, pulled into the path of Emily Aubuchon, 26, of Silex, Missouri at 1:40 p.m.

Aubuchon was headed south while Heindselman was headed east at Highway 61 and Route W in St. Charles County.

Aubuchon's vehicle crashed into the driver's side of Heindselman's vehicle.

Heindselman was pronounced dead at 2:25 p.m. by Dr. K. Sutterer.

Heindselman was a long-time resident of LaGrange, Missouri before moving to Quincy in recent years.

Her husband, Russell, was well known throughout the Tri-States for building bluebird houses and other inventions.

Russell died in an ATV crash in August 2016.

He was featured in several media stories throughout the years about fishing and other outdoor activities.
