Special donation lights up Central Park

You may see a water-skiing Santa Claus in Hannibal’s Central Park.

That’s all due to a special donation from Mike and Donna Coons.

The Coons family is known for their massive Christmas display at their home off Route KK for more than 30 years.

After their endeavor took a lot of time and money, they decided to donate a portion to Hannibal's Park and Recreation Department.

"It's just the jewel in our park district system and that it is right by city hall, it is right in the middle of our town. It is not used a lot in the winter so we just love that we are able to have some beautiful Christmas displays for people to drive by and walk by and see,” says Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department, Mary Lynne Richards.

In addition to the new lights in the park, Hannibal's Park and Recreation Department has also been busy hanging wreaths.

You can find more than 80 wreaths throughout America's Hometown.
