Shop Local Saturday keeps your money local
QUINCY, Ill. —
Shoppers hit the streets of Quincy Saturday, February 9th for the District's Shop Local Saturday event. Shop local Saturday's happen several times a year, but this week's fell just before Valentine's Day. The event took place from 10:00am to 4:00pm. A hand full of local business participated in the event helping keep local money local.
We can tell that there are people out and about shopping just to spend money local and we love that. We think that's amazing. We love that The District promotes it and helps out all the small businesses. It really, really does make a big difference in our community and in general to small business which are so important," said Kristin Peters, Yellow Kiss Boutique owner.
The next shop local event will be the second Saturday of May.
