Salvation Army Christmas distribution takes place in Quincy

The Quincy Salvation Army Christmas distribution took place Thursday in distribution headquarters located in the former RTD Office Products building on South 10th Street.

Food baskets and toys were given out to those that had applied for assistance.

Parents got to add a personal touch this year by "shopping" for the toys that would be coming home.

Those involved say the reason for giving is simple.

"We know that giving toys and food and making Christmas exciting and joyful for people means we can say 'Joy to the World'," stated Major Andy Miller with the Salvation Army.
