Roller Derby gives back to the community.

Quincy's professional roller derby league, The Dark River Derby Coalition (DRDC), has recently raised $1,000 for two local organizations.

They raised $500 for Partners 4 Kids in Care in Hannibal and $500 for the Madonna House in Quincy.

Since its inception in 2010, the DRDC with its partner, Scotties Fun Spot, has donated over $10,000 to the local community.

The DRDC is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), which is the international governing body for the sport of women's flat track roller derby.

The DRDC is currently ranked 169 of all Women's Flat Track Derby Association member leagues internationally and ended its 5th season in 2015 with 10 wins and 1 loss.

Its 6th home season starts on May 7th at Scotties Fun Spot in Quincy.
