Quincy police investigate early-morning homicide

Quincy police investigate early morning shooting near 13th and Washington.

Quincy police are investigating the early-morning shooting death of Dennis Green, 53 of Quincy.

It happened at 13th and Washington Streets.

Officers responded to a call of "shots fired" shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Green was found on the front porch suffering from at least one gun wound and was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted Sunday in Bloomington IL.

There were people inside the residence when this occurred, but no one else was injured.

Multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene.

At this time, the police department has no reason to believe there is any further danger to the public as this incident does not appear to be a random act.

The investigation is ongoing and the police department is asking anyone with information about this incident or anything leading up to this incident to please contact the department directly or through Crime Stoppers.
