Quincy man arrested for firearms trafficking


    Jeffrey Bennett, 41, faces several charges including firearms trafficking, aggravated domestic battery and manufacture/delivery of <5000 grams of cannabis.

    A Quincy man was arrested following a firearms investigation that began last fall.

    Jeffrey Bennett, 41, faces several charges including firearms trafficking, aggravated domestic battery and manufacture/delivery of <5000 grams of cannabis.

    Quincy police began investigating the illegal possession, distribution, and purchasing of firearms last September.

    QPD seized eight firearms.

    In February 2019, officers recovered an AK-47 from a residence in Quincy.

    It was reported stolen from a 2016 Adams County burglary.

    Officers eventually learned the firearm had been transported from Missouri.

    Bennett was formally charged in Adams County Circuit Court February 21.

    His bond was set at $1,000,000.

    Bennett was taken to the Adams County jail.
