QPS to offer before and after school programs for all K-5

The Quincy Public School District is preparing to provide before and after school programs at all their K-5 elementary schools for the first time this school year.

Last year, Lincoln Douglas Elementary was the first school to adopt the program.

Due to the high demand and great response, after school activity director Stephanie Dickens says the program is close to seeking a waiting list for students.

"A snack in included in the price, they also get homework help, they do arts and crafts activities, puzzles, games and then recreation time,” said Dickens.

The before and after school daycare runs from 7-8 a.m. and from the time schools dismissed until 5:30 p.m.

If you would like to sign your child up, information can be found on the QPS website.
