Quincy Public Library offers free online program for student success

Kids will have the library database at the tip of their fingers, 24/7. No matter where students are or what device they can access the library's books, movies, magazines, and more.

The Quincy Public Library wants to help kids brush up on their skills as they head back to school. One of the biggest things the Quincy Public Library is doing is offering E Access cards to all Quincy Public School students.

Kids will have the library database at the tip of their fingers, 24/7. No matter where students are or what device they can access the library's books, movies, magazines, and more.

Katie Kraushaar is with the Quincy Public Library. She said the database also offers things like S.A.T and A.C.T prep, tests, and world book.

With kids being able to pick and choose the activities that they wanted to do, the books they wanted to read, and that reading for pleasure can give them so much more than what they are being told to read in class," Kraushaar explained. "While we love all of our teachers and we encourage them as much as we can and support them as much as we can we know the kids need more than the teachers can give them. That is what the library is here for, we want to encourage them and supplement what they are already learning in class.

The library hopes this keeps the kids engaged and interested throughout the school year.

The Quincy Public Library is also helping teachers stay fresh this school year.

The library offers teacher delivery cards. This is a way for teachers to get more materials for their classrooms.

Teachers can choose materials and resources for specific themes and projects they may have. Those things are delivered to the school for the teacher to use for up to a month.

Then they are returned for others teachers to enjoy.

The library has also added more resources to make things like a little easier on parents.

"We were lucky enough to get another set of lockers and a drop box for the QPL out at the new Isles school while we love, we have those out at Lincoln Douglas too," Kraushaar explained. "What the patrons missed is those can be used yer round, not just when school is in session, you can request those materials to be put in those lockers any time of year. drop those things when you are waiting in line to pick up your kid or dropping them off in the morning Those are resources that are meeting you where you are.

The library also offers many events through out the school year as well. You can go to the Quincy Public Library website by clicking here.
