A Ralls County family is lucky to be alive after an overnight fire raged through their home.
Firefighters were called to a home on 19057 Bailey Bridge Road just before midnight on Tuesday.
That's between New London and Frankford.
The two story home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
There were two adults and two children inside the home at the time of the blaze, but they all got out safely.
Fire Chief James Quick with the New London Volunteer Fire Department tells KHQA the fire is believed to have started in the flue of a wood stove. However, the Missouri State Fire Marshal will be on the scene later Wednesday morning to investigate the official cause of the blaze.
In addition to the New London Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters with Hannibal Rural Fire Department and the Frankford Fire Department were called in for mutual aid.
The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
They are currently staying with relatives nearby.
The New London Volunteer Fire Department returned to the scene around 5:00 a.m. after a few flames reignited.
Firefighters put out those flames and sprayed down any remaining hot spots.
