New indigent death policy approved in Adams County

The Adams County Board approved a new policy to address indigent deaths in Adams County.

Concerns were raised about the office's policy and the cost families were charged to release loved ones.

State's Attorney Gary Farha says no major changes were made.

Two committees reviewed the policy to clarify any gray areas.

"Making certain that the coroner wasn't under the misapprehension that the board expected him to collect on these indigent burials," said Farha.

The policy was unaninmously approved.
