Monroe City man awarded with Hannibal Cannibal Legacy Award
Hannibal Regional Foundation and the Hannibal Cannibal awarded Rusty Rothweiler of Monroe City, Missouri with the 2018 Bob Richards Hannibal Cannibal Legacy Award during this year’s race.
The award is in memory of Bob Richard, a longtime Cannibal participant and advocate for healthy and active lifestyles.
Rothweiler has arrived at 4:30 a.m. for the past 14 years, giving his time to volunteer for the Hannibal Cannibal.
In addition to supplying the Cannibal with all-terrain vehicles from Sydenstricker’s for those who coordinate the event to use on race day, he has also helped set up the stage for presentation ceremonies, ice down the drinks for runners, close off the roads and anything else he might have been asked to do, all of which he did with a smile.
The Hannibal Regional Foundation says they are extremely appreciative of Rusty’s time and support of this long-standing event.
