New Wednesday, a bridge in Marion County officially closes for replacement.

After an inspection a state inspector decided the bridge needed to close.

The structure was build in 1929 and is 201 feet long.

It is located on County Road 313 and crosses over the Fabius River.

Service Marion County Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode says that he hopes to get underway quickly on replacing the bridge.

"The good news is that even though we're closing the bridge, hopefully within a year or just over a year we can have a new bridge here in Taylor that will serve the community even better," said Bode.

Bode says he plans to have the bridge built wider to accomodate heavier type of machinery trying to cross.
