MACOMB, Ill. — The first of eight budget briefings for Macomb took place last week.
City Administrator Dean Torreson says the city could see a slight deficit between $50,000 and $150,000.
Even with a deficit, Torreson says city projects will be unaffected.
Projects include a street development project, upgrades to the water plant, and work on the sewer plant.
"We always do come out ahead of what we're forecasting, so I think we'll be fine in that regard," Torreson said.
Torreson says residents will not see an increase in their water bill, but will likely see a $1 increase in their sewer bill, along with another $1 increase next year.
A new city budget goes into effect May 1.
