Local students participate in Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day

Students at Berrian Elementary in Quincy celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday on Friday.

Students were able to gather in the hallways, bring a favorite towel or blanket and spend a portion of their morning reading.

Karedyn Williams is a third grader at the school.

She says it was fun to read her favorite books with her friends.

"Its about the Berenstein Bears going on vacation and papa bear teaching all of the other bears how to be safe,” said Williams.

Some other Dr. Seuss favorites were, Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat.
