Local sports coach wins $20,000
Bowling Green, Missouri —
From surviving cancer to winning a $20,000 check, Coach Matt Chance of Bowling Green High School shares the wealth with his students.
Chance came in second place for U.S. Cellular's "Most Valuable Coach Program" where Tri-State residents voted for him daily.
Chance received the check from U.S. Cellular Monday, December 3rd in a three-school pep rally.
It really just means that I've been in one place for a long time and that I've made an impact on a lot of the kids I've come across in my 20 years," Chance said. "It's just been a really neat event, really neat award. You know, it's been really awesome.
Chance also was KHQA's Hometown Heroes recipient in October.
Chance plans to use the $20,000 for the Bright Futures Program and to help update Bowling Green Schools' technology.
