Voters in Missouri are heading to the polls on Tuesday for the states primary election.

But the question is, how many will be out to vote?

Marion County Clerk, Valerie Dornberger, said she expects only 25% to 30% voter turnout for the county.

"It's probably a little lower than the last primary we had in 2018," Dornberger said.

She also said they have seen a very low number of absentee or mail in ballots which points to a lower turnout overall.

"We have not had many absentee ballots this time," she said. "We are thinking there may not be not as much interest in this election."

Missouri voters who head to the polls tomorrow will need to bring a form of ID with them such as a drivers license, student ID or a copy of a utility bill or bank statement.

Polls statewide open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

We will have live converge of Tuesday's primary results on air and on our website.

Important races in Missouri:

U.S. Senate Seat

One of the most noticeable is the open U.S. Senate seat. Current U.S. Senator Roy Blunt will be retiring.

21 Republicans and 11 Democrats are all vying for the seat.

District 6 Representative

Locally, Republican Congressman Sam Graves will need to defend his District 6 Representative spot.

Four other republicans and three Democrats are hoping for the nomination in November.

Monroe County Clerk

The Monroe County Clerk position is also up for grabs.

Republican Beth Whelan is challenging current county clerk LaJeana Peterson.

Peterson was under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for allegations of misconduct back in April.
