Local "Back 2 School Fair" serves hundreds
QUINCY, IL —
Kids got a head start on their school supply shopping thanks to a local church in Quincy,
The Back 2 School Help Fair is an event put on by the First Baptist Church.
The help fair provided immunizations, dental exams, screenings, school supplies and clothing for students.
According to Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore, over 800 students were served at this year’s fair.
"This is really Quincy at its finest. We have a tremendous collaboration with churches throughout the city of Quincy,” said Rev. Dr. Orville Jones. “Basically, two churches per grade help to provide the bookbags and we have well over 100 bookbags for every grade level including preschool."
Anyone is welcomed to attend the back to school fair.
This is the 24th year the Baptist church has put the event on for the community.
