Large fire consumes part of Adams County home
Adams County, Illinois —
Firefighters responded to a large house fire Wednesday night in Adams County.
Crews arrived at 3206 Rutledge Place at 6:33 p.m.
“Crews saw the front of the house fully involved when they got there,” Quincy Fire Assistant Chief Tom Bentley said.
Four engines responded to the scene.
The Tri-Township Fire District was called for mutual aid but was turned away.
“We [Quincy Fire Department] had the first three trucks on scene, so I knew I would have plenty of help there then," Bentley said. "I still had engine 5 on the way."
There were no injuries.
Investigators were still on scene as of 9:23 p.m.
“They will be on scene investigating for some time. I’m not sure on just how long,” Bentley said.
