Kewanee man arrested for involvement in Macomb shots fired incident
Macomb Police responded to a shot fired call early Sunday morning.
On Monday afternoon, Jequann Johnson of Kewanee, Illinois was arrested.
An investigation led police to identify Johnson as the suspect in this incident and he was apprehended in Kewanee.
Johnson was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.
A second subject, Ashton Powers, was present with Johnson during the Sunday morning fight and was charged with Possession of a Look-Alike Substance With Intent To Distribute.
Powers was also located in Kewanee.
Additional arrests are anticipated from the incident.
The Macomb Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Kewanee Police Department, Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety, McDonough County Sherriff’s Office, and the Galesburg Police Department.
