Keeping your child engaged over winter break

Many students look forward to their winter breaks all year long.

It serves as the finish line of tests, projects, and papers.

While school vacations should always be used to relax, Quincy Public School Superintendent Roy Webb says you should keep your child engaged.

"We're always concerned on the longer breaks, the winter breaks, spring break, or the summer break, so I think we always recommend that kids do a little bit of school work during that time, you can still make it fun," says QPS Superintendent Roy Webb.

Webb recommends some fun ideas like reading your child a Christmas book or asking them to count the ornaments on the tree.
