JWCC to offer office computer workshops

John Wood Community College’s Workforce Development Center will offer modern office computer training courses this fall. The non-credit courses are open to the public, with a focus on the needs of local businesses and companies.

Courses include the following:

  • Microsoft Outlook, September 5, 12 and 19, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This course will explore Outlook and additional features the program has to offer. The instructor is Beth Bower, cost is $95. Classes will be held in room A122 at JWCC Science & Technology Center, 48th and Harrison in Quincy.
  • Microsoft Excel – Level I, September 27, October 4 and 11, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The course will cover general uses of a spreadsheet by offering hands-on examples of entering and editing various types of data. The instructor is Beth Bower, cost is $95. Classes will be held in room W132 at the Workforce Development Center (WDC), 4220 Kochs Lane in Quincy.
  • Microsoft Excel – Level II, October 18 and 25, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This course is an extension of Excel Level I class, and will focus on additional features of the Excel program. The instructor is Beth Bower, cost is $95. Classes will be held in room W133 at the WDC.
  • Microsoft Word – Level I, September 27, October 4 and 11, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This course will focus on common word processing features. Beth Bower is the instructor, cost is $95. Classes will be held in room W132 at the WDC.
  • Microsoft Word – Level II, October 18 and 25, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The class will focus on enhanced features of the word processing program. Beth Bower is the instructor, cost is $95. Classes will be held in room W132 at the WDC.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint, September 26, October 3 and 10, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This course will cover the basics and advanced features of this presentation-producing software. Beth Bower is the instructor, cost is $95. Classes will be held in room A122 at JWCC Science & Technology Center.
  • Google for Local Business, September 25, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This workshop will show how users can utilize Google tools for their business marketing efforts. The instructor is Andrew Skattebo, cost is $50. The class will be held in room W112 at the WDC.
