Police respond to officer-involved shooting near 11th and Jackson Streets in Quincy

One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Quincy Monday night. Illinois State Police are now investigating the shooting.

Police say multiple shots were fired at South 11th and Jackson Streets in Quincy around 8:20 p.m., Monday.

KHQA's David Amelotti reports a body could be seen on the ground covered.

The officer involved is ok but one male is dead.

KHQA was told on scene that a suspicious man drew a possible weapon, the officer shot and killed the subject.

The Adams County Coroner and a representative from the Adams County State's Attorney were on the scene.
