An ice jam north of Canton could cause flooding down river if it breaks apart.
The massive wall of ice is currently acting like a dam.
John Hark, Emergency Management Director in Hannibal, says he's watching the situation carefully.
It's something we're going to watch and be careful of, are we really worried about it and so forth? I don't think so. But are we guarded? Yes. Anytime anything can remotely threaten Hannibal or Marion County I'm gonna watch it carefully," said Hark.
Hark says Hannibal can handle another four to six feet of water.
He also says he wouldn't be surprised if we had some flooding this spring due to the wet winter we had to the north of us.
