Hannibal man arrested for burglary of storage facilities


    Thrun was arrested for allegedly burglarizing storage units

    On Monday morning, Hannibal Police Department officers arrested Richard Thrun, 40, from Hannibal, Missouri for his possible involvement in the burglaries of the Ole Miss Mini Storage facility located at S 7th Street and Warren Barret Drive.

    Officers found Thrun in the 900 block of Lyon Street, where Thrun attempted to escape on foot. After a short pursuit, he was taken into custody.

    This arrest comes from an investigation into a report of a suspicious person on Saturday morning at the storage facility, where officers discovered that several units had been broken into and items removed.

    Thrun was arrested on charges of Burglary 2nd Degree, Property Damage, 2 counts of Resisting Arrest and 2 Probation and Parole Warrants. He was placed in the Marion County Jail on the burglary charges and felony warrants.
