Get in shape without leaving your home

The most common new year's resolution for many is getting in shape.

KHQA's Hailey Vetterlein spent Tuesday morning at NuFIT in Quincy to get some workout tips.

These tips can help you kick start you new year by getting in shape without having to leave your home.

NuFIT owner Jenna Hull says there are four easy things for you to do at home.

  • Squats
  • Bicep curls (add weight by holding cans or anything heavy)
  • Cardio (high knees, jumping jacks, toe touches)
  • Planks
"The older we get, you're never just going to be standing still. You're either moving forward or you're moving back so as you age if you aren't doing anything, you're moving backwards. You want to be able to keep your mobility and your flexibility. This helps people to not have injuries," said Jenna Hull, owner of NuFIT.

Hull says all you have to do is start small, like walk around the block or drink more water.

Any small steps will make a huge difference at the end of the year.
