Fort Madison man arrested for stolen vehicle after chase

On Monday, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office received a report of a stolen truck from the Beilstein Camper Sales parking lot.

The owner of the stolen vehicle attempted to chase the vehicle on US 61 but was unable to catch the suspect.

The stolen vehicle was located at the Wilco gas station in Palmyra by a Palmyra Police Officer.

Christopher E. Guzman, 18 of Fort Madison, was arrested for stealing the Ford F150.

A stolen 2014 Jeep Compass was also located near Beilstein Camper Sales and it was concluded the Jeep was stolen out of Donnellson, Iowa.

Inside the jeep, stolen items from Canton residents were located as well as items from Lee County, Iowa.

The investigation continues.

Guzman remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $15,000 cash only bond.
