Court documents state suspect knew victim in fatal Keokuk stabbing
KEOKUK, IA —
New details have been released in a fatal stabbing that left one Keokuk woman dead and one man behind bars.
Adam Golden McCain, 24, is charged with First Degree Murder, a Class A Felony.
He's accused of stabbing Calove Sackman who later died from her injuries at a nearby hospital.
In court documents obtained by KHQA Thursday afternoon state McCain and Sackman knew each other.

The documents suggest McCain and Sackman had been in a long-term relationship.
Records state McCain admitted to driving Sackman around in his vehicle Tuesday night.
According to those documents, Sackman became upset with McCain and jumped out of his vehicle and into the street.
McCain is accused of stabbing Sackman once.
As Sackman tried to get away, the documents state McCain drove to Sackman and stabbed her multiple more times.
Before she succumbed to her injuries, Sackman identified her assailant as McCain to a witness.
McCain was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Department Wednesday morning.
He made his Initial Appearance in a South Lee County Court Room Wednesday morning.
McCain is being held on a $1 million cash-only bond.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for February 15 at 11 a.m. in the South Lee County Courthouse.
