MCDONOUGH COUNTY, Ill. (KHQA) — After a several months-long investigation, a caretaker from Good Hope, Ill., is facing charges after she reportedly stole from an elderly man in her care.
Anna M. Oller, 62, is charged with financial exploitation of an elderly person and two counts of felony thefts.
On August 12, 2021, the victim contacted the McDonough County Sheriff's Office to report he was missing several items from his home. The elderly man indicated he had been in the hospital the week before, and he believed his caretaker, Anna Oller, had his missing property.
Detectives investigated the situation further and "determined that Oller was in possession of the missing property and used the victim's finances to her own benefit," according to the McDonough County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrested Oller Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at her home in Good Hope.
The McDonough County States Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
