Burlington man arrested on robbery warrant
The Burlington Police Department arrested Kevin Jefferson, 36, from Burlington, Iowa on Sunday at 3001 Kirkwood Street at the Super 8 Motel.
He is charged with two Des Moines Warrants for Robbery 1st Degree and Parole Violation, Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Facility, Theft 3rd Degree - Possession of Stolen Firearm, Carrying Weapons, Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance - Ecstasy, Possession of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana, Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief 5th Degree.
Authorities had been attempting to locate Jefferson to serve two Des Moines County Warrants charging him with a Parole Violation and Robbery 1st Degree. The Robbery warrant stems from a November 4, 2018 incident where Jefferson allegedly stabbed Damian Gordon at 1005 Court Street Apartment #1.
During Jefferson's arrest, officers located two firearms, one of which was reported stolen from Fort Madison, Iowa. Officers also located marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy, drug paraphernalia, and a large sum of cash.
In an attempt to escape the motel, Jefferson damaged a mesh window screen at the Super 8 Motel.
Jefferson is currently being held at the Des Moines County Correctional Center pending a court appearance.
