Burlington garage fire deemed total loss

At 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, the Burlington, Iowa Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 2100 Burlington Ave. in Burlington.

The garage, owned by Joe Roche, is considered a total loss and is insured. The damage is estimated at $15,000 to the structure. The car inside, a 1997 Audi owned by Michael Dailey, is also considered a total loss. The garage was being heated with space heaters with extension chords in preparation to repair the car.

The cause of the fire is undetermined but is not considered suspicious. There were no injuries.

12 Burlington firefighters responded to the call and were assisted by two West Burlington firefighters responding on automatic aid. Burlington Police Department also assisted at the scene.
