Burlington Fire Department respond to morning garage fire

Shortly before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the Burlington Fire Department responded to a reported garage fire at 1105 Spring Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered flames and smoke coming from a detached 2 1/2 car garage.

The first had burned up into the enclosed rafters and made it difficult to get to due to the large amount of storage.

The fire was extinguished at 10:05 a.m.

The owners, Ronald and Margret Kienast, were inside at the time and were alerted to the fire by people knocking on their door.
