Body found near Alexandria, MO

An autopsy will be performed Thursday in Columbia, Missouri.

Clark County Sheriff Shawn Webster confirmed a body was found on the north side of Alexandria, MO, Tuesday night. He said crews arrived on scene shortly before 7:00 p.m.

The body was found in the old state park. That's the north side of the levy across from Alexandria.

The body is described as a white male. Webster said the body is believed to have been in water and the sun for at least 24 hours.

No name is being released at this time. Webster said that officials have yet to confirm the identity of the person or notify family.
