UPDATE: Deceased male found in Liberty, IL building identified; cause of death determined

UPDATED Tuesday, Jan. 23:

In a press release sent out by the Adams County Sheriff's Office, the 24-year-old male has been identified as Kyle Altgilbers.

According to the press release, Altgilbers did not have permission to be on the property.

The medical examiner reports he died from electrocution.

The circumstances surrounding his death is currently under investigation.


On Sunday afternoon around 4:45, Adams County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a rural Liberty, Illinois structure located in the vicinity of N 650th Avenue and E 1800th Street.

Deputies were responding to a report of an open door at a building.

Upon arrival, a 24-year-old white male was found in one of the buildings on the property.

The coroner pronounced him as deceased.

The victim has been identified and the release of a name is pending.

The death is currently under investigation.
