A Christmas Carol as told by Charles Dickens
Hannibal, Missouri —
Studio 57 Productions is putting on "A Christmas Carol," a ghost story of Christmas as told by Renowned Trans-Dimensional Traveler Charles Dickens in Hannibal this month.
It features local actor Clark A. Cruikshank as Charles Dickens and Ebenezer Scrooge with original video and special effects by Frank Elmore.
The show features local actors Kristie & Maddie Bradshaw, Jim Dewey & Kirsten Hildahl-Dewey, Frank Elmore, Adrienne Claudette Fisk, Patrick Hedges, Jordan Hosmer, David Jameson, Julian King, Emily Lennox, Rajah Maples, Ken Marks, Lisa Marks, Dakeeta & Nadiya Planty, Jim Waddell, and Gretchen Wolfmeyer, all appearing in "TeslaVision VR" 3D.
Famed English author Charles Dickens arrives in Hannibal to read his book to an eager audience, as he has done many times in other cities.
This performance, however, promises to be a little different, because for the first time Dickens will tell his story with the aid of "TeslaVision VR", an untested new 3D stereo-optic device delivered mysteriously to "The Renowned Trans-Dimensional Traveler Mister Charles Dickens".
Theater goers will witness new video effects by taking you on Scrooge's Christmas Eve journey with a 3D twist (glasses included).
Inspired by Hannibal's Big River Steampunk Festival, this world-premiere staging contains fantasy elements like time and trans-dimensional travel, and alternate Victorian history, Dickens will be joined by historical figures such as Nikola Tesla, Queen Victoria and Mark Twain.
Expect ten performances at Bluff City Theater, located at 212 Broadway in historic downtown Hannibal.
Tickets are $25.00 each, with discounts for groups of 10 or more.
