100 Who Care chooses another charity to donate to
The "100 Who Care" group gathered in Quincy Wednesday to decide who will receive their quarterly donation.
Three charities are chosen at random to pitch why their non-profit should receive money.
Then, everyone in attendance votes on which organization they choose.
Each woman in the group pledges $100, so the payout is $13,000.
Quanada recieved the money last quarter. Its executive director says it really helped the Quanada weather the state's financial troubles.
"So this is really helping us put that money back in reserve so we can continue to meet basic expenses, things like payroll, so if slowdowns happen again with payments or unanticipated budget cuts after the year, we'll be able to absorb that," Megan Duesterhaus said.
This quarter, the Hospitality House was chosen to receive the money.
The 100 Who Care plans to give a total of $50,000 away to area charities this year.
