Hannibal man arrested following alleged shooting incident
UPDATED Jan. 7th:
On January 5th, a warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of Marion County charging Minor with Assault in the First Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Minor's bond was set at $100,000.00 cash only.
He remains in the Marion County Jail.
At 1:47 p.m. Friday afternoon, officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to the area of Maple St. and Church St. for a fight progress between two males.
When officers arrived they discovered one of the males had been shot in the upper torso and the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle.
At 1:51 p.m. officers located the vehicle and the suspect, Lamarr W Minor, 41 of Hannibal, was taken into custody without incident.
Minor was placed on a 24-hour hold for Assault 1st Degree and released to the Marion County Jail.
The victim in the shooting has been transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy and is in stable condition.
Upon further investigation, officers located a handgun that was discarded by the suspect during his attempt to flee the area.
