Connect to Congress: Congressman LaHood on shorter recess
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is cutting lawmaker's August recess short.
McConnell wants lawmakers to push through the President's judicial nominations and pass spending bills to fund the government.
McDonnell made a similar move last year limiting the August recess by a single week.
Wednesday, KHQA asked Illinois Congressman Darin LaHood what he thinks about the shorter recess as part of our Connect to Congress initiative.
I give majority leader McConnell a lot of credit, you know, we have passed in the house 503 bills that are sitting in the senate, the senate has not taken up many of these good pieces of legislation.
We're still about two months from the planned cancellation so a lot could change between now and then.
As for the House, the lower chamber still plans to be out for the entire month of August.
