QUINCY, Ill. — A Quincy woman says a love for all mankind has kept her volunteering for Birthright of Quincy for 40 years.
On behalf of our sponsors Peters Heating and Air and Hilbing Autobody, Patty Adam is KHQA's November Hometown Hero award recipient.
It's been a difficult few months for Adam.
"My husband passed away from COVID September 2nd," she explained.
Her loss made KHQA's surprise presentation of this month's Hometown Hero award especially moving and emotional for Adam and her family.
She gives thanks to a higher power and an inner love for other people for helping her volunteer for birthright for 40 years.
Adam's colleagues say Adam has been the heart and soul of Birthright of Quincy.
An anonymous person nominated Adam - something her colleagues say is definitely deserved.
No matter what happens in life, Adam says love, understanding and compassion are key to making a difference in the lives of others.
KHQA would like to thank our sponsors, Peters Heating and Air and Hilbing Autobody, for making our Hometown Hero awards possible.
