A Hannibal man and former church elder who pleaded guilty to wire fraud was sentenced to 366 days in prison Tuesday.

Donald White received that sentence in U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Missouri in St. Louis.

White also was ordered to pay more than $279,000 in restitution to Antioch Baptist Church in Hannibal and $10,000 to a Des Moines insurance company.

White pleaded guilty to stealing from Antioch Baptist Church.

In return, a second count of wire fraud was dropped.

A grand jury indicted the former Antioch church elder in March 2018. He was accused stealing more than $300,000 from the church over a 20-year span.

An investigation started after a December 2016 fire that destroyed the church.
